Traditional Welsh Rarebit
Ingredients
250g strong cheddar cheese
70ml Welsh Ale or Beer
1.5 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
20g unsalted Welsh butter
1 tbsp English mustard or mustard powder
4 slices of good quality white bread
Welsh Rarebit
Method
Lightly toast the bread under a pre-heated grill or in your toaster.
Mix together grated cheese, your ale or beer, the Worcestershire sauce, butter and English mustard.
Spread a generous layer of the mixture over each slice of toast and pop back under the grill until melted and bubbling. This will now smell absolutely lush!
Cut each slice in half and serve immediately. We highly recommend pairing with a chutney. Our favourite at the moment is Radnor Preserves Leek and Cider Chutney. Yum yum!
